The Management Board of Inter Tourism Expo Accra (INTTA) has appointed Beauty Kabukie Apedoe as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Inter Tourism Expo Accra, following a strategic assessment of her academic accomplishments, professional experience, leadership capabilities and demonstrated commitment to tourism, business, communications, entrepreneurship and sustainable development.
The appointment represents an important step in the continued institutional development of INTTA and its ambition to position the Expo as a leading platform connecting tourism, business, investment, trade, exhibitions, destination development and international partnerships.
Ms. Apedoe brings to the position a multidisciplinary background spanning tourism and hospitality management, public relations, strategic communications, MICE and events, entrepreneurship, programme management, sustainability advocacy and stakeholder engagement.
Outstanding Academic Foundation
Ms. Apedoe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), providing her with a strong academic foundation in the tourism and hospitality industry.
Her academic record was distinguished by her recognition as the Best Graduating Student of the 2023 graduating class at the 23rd Congregation, an achievement that reflects her commitment to excellence, discipline and intellectual development.
She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, with particular interest in areas relating to international trade, business and commercial law. This additional legal and commercial perspective is expected to contribute to her ability to understand the increasingly complex regulatory, investment and business environment within which the tourism and MICE sectors operate.
Professional Experience in Tourism, Communications and Business
Ms. Apedoe has developed professional exposure across tourism, hospitality, public relations, events, business development and entrepreneurship.
Her professional experience with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), particularly within Public Relations, has provided her with valuable experience in institutional communication, stakeholder engagement, strategic messaging and professional representation.
She has also developed competencies in public speaking, content development, corporate communications, event communication and stakeholder relations, positioning her to lead INTTA’s communication and visibility agenda while strengthening relationships with public institutions, private-sector organisations, investors, tourism businesses and international partners.
A Strong MICE and Events Perspective
The Management Board considers Ms. Apedoe’s experience and understanding of the MICE – Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions – sector particularly relevant to the future direction of INTTA.
Her exposure to event planning, coordination and management, together with her understanding of business events and exhibition platforms, aligns with INTTA’s objective of using exhibitions and conferences not merely as events, but as platforms for business connections, investment promotion, tourism development and economic opportunity.
Under her leadership, INTTA is expected to further develop the Expo as a platform where tourism operators, businesses, government institutions, investors, development partners and international stakeholders can meet, engage and identify practical opportunities for collaboration.
Entrepreneurial and Cross-Sector Experience
Ms. Apedoe also brings entrepreneurial experience across events, hospitality, food, agriculture and related business ventures.
This practical exposure gives her an understanding of business operations, customer engagement, market opportunities and the realities faced by entrepreneurs.
Her cross-sector perspective is particularly relevant to INTTA’s evolving model, which seeks to connect tourism with agribusiness, trade, investment, digital transformation, infrastructure, sustainability and broader economic development.
Commitment to Sustainability
Another important dimension of Ms. Apedoe’s profile is her involvement in sustainability and environmental advocacy.
She has participated in initiatives promoting environmental awareness and responsible practices, including advocacy around single-use plastic reduction and environmental education.
Her experience engaging young people and communities around environmental responsibility supports INTTA’s growing commitment to promoting a tourism and investment ecosystem that recognises the importance of environmental sustainability, responsible tourism and inclusive economic development.
Strategic Leadership for the Next Phase of INTTA
As CEO, Ms. Apedoe will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to the organisation and supporting the implementation of INTTA’s institutional objectives.
Her mandate will include strengthening INTTA’s visibility and positioning; expanding strategic partnerships; deepening engagement with tourism businesses and institutions; supporting investor and international stakeholder relations; and advancing the Expo’s role as a platform for tourism, trade and investment.
Her leadership vision is centred on creating stronger connections between tourism businesses, institutions, investors, entrepreneurs and international markets, while contributing to the positioning of Ghana as a competitive destination for tourism, business events, investment and international engagement.
She is also expected to advance an inclusive and sustainable approach to tourism and economic development, with particular attention to opportunities for young people, entrepreneurs and emerging businesses.
Chairman’s Endorsement
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Emmanuel Treku, Chairman of Inter Tourism Expo Accra, expressed his satisfaction with the Management Board’s decision and congratulated Ms. Apedoe on her appointment.
Mr. Treku said her combination of academic excellence, tourism expertise, communications experience, entrepreneurial exposure, legal studies and commitment to sustainability provides a strong foundation for the next phase of INTTA’s development.
He further pledged his full support for Ms. Apedoe’s administration, while emphasising the importance of building a strong strategic management team and a robust corporate governance structure to guide the organisation’s continued growth.
According to the Chairman, INTTA’s future will depend on its ability to combine visionary leadership with professionalism, accountability, strategic partnerships and measurable impact.
Positioning INTTA for Greater Impact
The appointment of Beauty Kabukie Apedoe comes at a significant period in the development of Inter Tourism Expo Accra as the organisation seeks to strengthen its position as a platform for tourism promotion, investment facilitation, business networking, exhibitions and international engagement.
With her multidisciplinary experience and forward-looking leadership approach, the new CEO is expected to work with the Board, management, partners and stakeholders to build an increasingly impactful institution capable of connecting Ghana’s tourism and business opportunities with local, regional and international markets.
The Management Board is confident that Ms. Apedoe’s leadership will contribute meaningfully to INTTA’s institutional growth and its broader objective of using tourism, MICE, trade and investment as catalysts for job creation, enterprise development, destination promotion and sustainable economic growth.
