NPA reaffirms commitment to consumer protection

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA), has reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to consumer protection at the 2026 World Consumer Rights Day celebration held on March19, 2026 in Accra.

The event, under the theme “Safe Products, Confident Consumers in Ghana’s Downstream Petroleum Sector,” brought together key stakeholders to discuss product quality, pricing transparency, and consumer welfare.

The Chief Executive of NPA, Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq, emphasized the Authority’s determination to continually protect consumers and to ensure that they have access to quality fuel at all times.

He provided practical insights on safeguarding fuel quality and ensuring fair pricing, and reiterated the Authority’s commitment to strengthening consumer confidence through collaboration with partners such as CUTS International among others.

The Chief Executive outlined reforms, including the establishment of a Consumer Services Directorate and a modern call centre.

Deputy Chief Executive, Dr. Sheila Addo highlighted the need for collaboration among stakeholders to deepen trust and confidence.
