NPA, Police deepen ties to strengthen petroleum regulation

The Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tamakloe Esq., has paid a courtesy call on the Western Regional Commander, DCOP Frank Abrokwah, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration in the regulation of Ghana’s petroleum industry.

Accompanying the Chief Executive Officer on the visit were a Deputy Chief Executive of the Authority, Dr. Sheila Addo, and other officials of the Authority.

Also at the meeting was Mr. George Teye Nyaunu, Chairman Tanker Drivers Union and other executive members of the union.

At the meeting, the NPA Boss and DCOP Abrokwah discussed stringent measures aimed at enhancing compliance, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the continued ethical conduct of players within the petroleum downstream sector.

Mr. Tameklo underscored the importance of the Ghana Police Service as a strategic partner in safeguarding the integrity of the industry and ensuring that regulatory standards are firmly upheld across the country.

He further noted that closer institutional cooperation would contribute significantly towards protecting consumers, preserving public safety, and fostering confidence within the sector.

For his part, DCOP Abrokwah reaffirmed the commitment of the Ghana Police Service to supporting the mandate of the NPA and maintaining law and order within the industry.
