Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq. said though ongoing geopolitical tensions and conflicts across parts of the world continue to affect global energy markets, Ghana remains confident in its pricing policy framework and supply security arrangements.
He assured downstream petroleum industry players that the country remains committed to ensuring uninterrupted supply of petroleum products to grow and sustain the economy.
Mr Tameklo was speaking to downstream petroleum industry leaders at an exclusive CEO breakfast meeting, hosted by the NPA in Accra, and said, “Government interventions over the past two windows (GH¢2.00 / litre on diesel and GHp36 / litre on petrol) and the next two windows (GH¢1.07 / litre on diesel) were well thought through with the risks to businesses very well considered.”
The meeting was to deepen stakeholder engagement, improve regulatory regime and allow for networking towards achieving strategic growth for the industry.
The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Hon. Dr. John Abdulai Jinappor, the Deputy Minister for the sector, Mr. Richard Gyan-Mensah, participated in the meeting.
Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq., led the Authority’s team on industry related discussions, with key participants including Deputy CEO, Dr. Sheila Addo, and Executive Committee members of the Authority.
For his part, Hon. Dr. Jinapor affirmed government’s commitment to a workable energy sector to power industries and sustain growth.
The meeting concluded with actions that should be implemented to grow and sustain the downstream petroleum sector.
