The Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq., has reaffirmed the Authority’s unwavering commitment to strengthening health, safety, security, environment, and quality (HSSEQ) standards across Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.
Addressing guests at GOIL’s 2026 HSSEQ Week celebration held at the GOBitumen Terminal in Tema, on 28th April 2026, Mr Tameklo said health and safety requirements within the downstream petroleum sector is a key security culture that cannot be compromised.
The week-long programme, held under the global theme, “Promoting a Positive Psychosocial Working Environment” — brings together industry leaders, regulators, and staff to deepen collaboration and promote safety and health best practices.
The event is part of the 2026 International Labour Organization Day for Safety and Health.
Mr. Tameklo commended GOIL for its leadership in institutionalising HSSEQ across its nationwide operations, describing the initiative as a model for the industry.
He further emphasised that the Authority would continue to provide regulatory guidance and oversight to support companies in achieving the highest standards of compliance and performance.
