The Basketball Africa League (BAL) has announced a multiyear partnership with global sportswear brand PUMA, naming the company as the league’s Official Outfitter ahead of the 2026 season.

Under the collaboration, which begins with the sixth BAL season tipping off on March 27, 2026, PUMA will supply official apparel for teams, fans and referees. This includes game uniforms, warm-up gear, practice wear, accessories and branded tops for participants in the league’s social impact and player development programmes.

The 2026 BAL season will open at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa.

According to the BAL, fan apparel inspired by African basketball culture will be available at BAL arenas, the league’s online store at BALStore.NBA.com, PUMA’s online store in South Africa, as well as selected NBA and PUMA retail outlets in the country.

BAL President Amadou Gallo Fall said the partnership aligned with the league’s vision of growing basketball and the sports industry across Africa.

He noted that PUMA’s experience, innovation and strong ties to the continent’s sports ecosystem would help enhance the experience for players, teams and fans, while supporting the continued growth of the league.

PUMA Vice President for Sports Marketing and Sport Licensing, Johan Adamsson, said the collaboration formed part of the company’s commitment to expanding the game of basketball globally.

He indicated that PUMA looked forward to bringing its performance technology to the BAL and engaging with basketball fans across Africa and beyond.

PUMA becomes the latest partner to join the BAL, which already works with organisations including the Rwanda Development Board as a foundational partner, and Afreximbank, Air Senegal, Amazon Web Services, Castle Lite and RwandAir as official partners.

Tickets for the Kalahari Conference group phase in South Africa are currently on sale, while tickets for the Sahara Conference in Rabat, Morocco, are also available. Tickets for the playoffs and finals can be purchased online, with fans gaining free access to the BAL Fan Zone at each venue.

The BAL is a professional basketball league featuring 12 club teams from across Africa and is a partnership between the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and NBA Africa. The league is headquartered in Dakar, Senegal.
