The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr Simon Madjie(Esq.), has toured Olam Agri Ghana Limited’s new pasta production plant in Kpone-Tema ahead of its official opening on Thursday, 5 March, 2026.
The facility, which will be inaugurated by President John Dramani Mahama, represents a major step in the company’s expansion within Ghana’s agro-industrial sector. The Co-Founder & Group CEO of Olam, Mr Sunny Verghese will be in attendance.
Olam Agri has invested US$40 million in the project, which is expected to create 200 new jobs, on top of the 300 employees already working at its flour mill.
The plant will transform locally milled flour into finished pasta, helping to reduce Ghana’s reliance on imports.
During the visit, Mr Madjie met with company management to review construction milestones, production plans and sourcing strategies, emphasising GIPC’s commitment to supporting investors throughout the life of their projects.
The investment builds on the foundation laid in 2012, when former President John Evans Atta Mills launched Olam Agri’s US$55 million wheat milling facility in Tema. The expansion demonstrates enduring confidence in Ghana’s agro-industrial sector and highlights how a stable investment climate and consistent government support encourage companies to reinvest over the long term.
