Ghana is expected to earn about US$985 million in petroleum revenue in 2026, up from the US$770 million recorded in 2025, the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) has projected.
The projected increase is largely attributed to a modest rise in global oil prices, driven by ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
PIAC Chairman, Richard Ellimah, revealed the figures during the launch of the Committee’s 2025 Annual Report.
“Looking at the average prices of Brent, WTI, and Henry Hub over the period, Brent crude averaged US$80.5 per barrel in 2024, dropped to US$69.04 in 2025, and is projected to rise to US$78.8 per barrel in 2026,”
“This slight increase is largely due to tensions in the Middle East, which have pushed petroleum prices higher. Based on these figures, total petroleum receipts for 2026 are expected to reach US$985 million, up from US$770 million in 2025.”he said
He noted that these figures are projections and could change depending on global market developments.
