Asharami Ghana has commissioned its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) facility at the Tema Oil Jetty following the arrival of a vessel carrying approximately 5,000 metric tonnes of the product.
At the ceremony on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, the company’s Executive Director, Adewale Ajibade, commended the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq., for his support in facilitating the vessel’s arrival.
The event was attended by the Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, who was the Special Guest of Honour, alongside the NPA Chief Executive and other energy sector stakeholders.
Mr Ajibade said the NPA Chief Executive’s guidance had helped turn the company’s plans into reality.
“I acknowledge you specifically for your role, support and for tolerating us—not necessarily bending the rules, but accommodating some of those shortcomings and ensuring that this happened,” he said.
He added that Mr Tameklo’s guidance and support had been instrumental in achieving the milestone.
The vessel, making its maiden voyage to Ghana, delivered about 5,000 metric tonnes of LPG, which is expected to contribute to domestic supply and support access to cleaner energy.
The commissioning of the facility marks a further step in Asharami Ghana’s operations in the country’s LPG market.
