Sachet, Packaged Water Producers announce price adjustment

by Business Post

The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced an upward adjustment in the prices of sachet water following rising production costs.

According to the Association, the new prices, which take effect from Monday, April 6, 2026, apply to both ex-factory and ex-truck rates and are being recommended by the national body to its members.

NASPAWAP attributed the decision to a global shortage of polymers and a sharp increase in their prices, a situation worsened by the ongoing conflict in Iran. The Association noted that the development has significantly increased production costs, making it difficult for producers to sustain the current pricing structure.

Under the revised pricing regime, a bag of 500ml sachet water (30 sachets) will now sell at an ex-factory price of GH¢8, while the ex-truck price has been adjusted to GH¢10 per bag. The maximum recommended retail price has been set at GH¢15 per bag.

The Association has called on retailers and consumers to adhere strictly to the approved prices to promote fair trading practices across the sector.

NASPAWAP expressed appreciation to the general public for their understanding and cooperation during what it described as a challenging period for the sachet and packaged water industry.

The announcement was signed by the Director of Corporate Affairs of NASPAWAP.
