A delegation from the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has paid a courtesy call on management of Tema Port to acquaint with progress of work towards implementation of the 24-Hour Economy initiative.
The delegation, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, visited to assess and confirm the readiness of the Tema Oil Jetty for 24-hour service.
The Director of Port, Tema, Mr Tebon Zumah, received the delegation from the National Petroleum Authority.
The engagement follows an earlier inspection conducted last year, during which certain operational and safety gaps were identified at the oil berth that required attention to facilitate the safe berthing and discharge of petroleum vessels at night.
As part of the visit, the Director of Port, Tema, took the delegation on a tour of the berth to inspect the progress of works done.
Mr Tamakloe expressed satisfaction with the progress made and urged the timely completion of the outstanding works to fully position the oil jetty for round-the-clock operations, in line with government’s 24-hour economy policy.
